What Is A Factory Order? Can I Get A New Car Faster?
Added: 13 March 2017
If you are looking for a brand new car you will have heard the term 'Factory Order', car dealers like ourselves sell factory order cars and stock cars, both of these terms are relevant to brand new cars. A factory order is a brand new car that has been built to your exact specification, you would have gone onto the car configurator on the brands website and built your dream car, the dealer would then order your build from the factory, this often incurs a waiting period. A stock car is a brand new car that we have configured and ordered from directt he manufacturer without any customer input into the colour of the vehicle, what options were fitted, what engine size and transmission.
I am in the market for a brand new car, should I buy a factory order or a stock car?
If you have you heart set on a specific model and variant i.e transmission, spec level, a specific colour, a list of specific options then a factory order is the way to go, the only downside is the waiting time. The waiting time can be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, in some cases it can take even longer depending on the factory's production schedule.
If you are looking for a brand new car and need it sooner rather than later a stock car is the way to go, we have a wide range of brand new stock cars available to purchase with no waiting period. We have brand new cars in our compound which in a variety of different colours, trim levels, some with lot's of optional extras and others with only 1 or 2 extras. If you need a new car quickly this is the way to go.
Are stock cars cheaper than factory orders?
9 times out of 10, the answer is yes. We have to order a batch of brand new stock cars to keep the manufacturer happy, this means they will give us a higher level of discount on these cars which is past on to you. You can save thousands of pounds off the cost new price buy purchasing a brand new stock car.
Can I tweak my factory order?
Had your heart set on a specific optionally extra, colour? Had a change of heart after you have placed your order? You can still change your order depending on how far your order has gone into production, the best thing to do is give us a call and we can take a look and see if the factory will allow you to change your order.
I have been quoted a 3 week delivery time, could this change?
Factory order delivery times can change, this could happen due to a supply issue or demand reasons. The factory may have a new model launching and may need to make that the priority model they build, this could affect your delivery time. A certain part for your model may been delayed due to supply issues, that could affect your dealer time. The best thing to do is order the car as early as possible to counteract any unforeseen issues.
