Service Wash Statement
In line with current Environmental & Sustainable Development Goals which we are expected as a commercial business to focus upon, we have a Social, Regulatory, and Business responsibility to have an outlined plan to work towards these objectives. As such we are reviewing current processes. These are ongoing reviews, department by department, starting where there is the largest energy, environmental or waste generation.
The Agenda Objectives are;
• Environmental Policy Coherence (understanding the impact our activities produce)
• Reduction of Carbon Footprint Impact
• Reduce waste of natural resources
• Reduce pollution.
We have identified that the “complimentary service wash” is a high impact area of our activities where we can make a difference. This is not a service or product we have charged customers for in the past, or has been built into the price a customer has paid previously. Therefore, we do not want this perceived by customers as Cost Cutting, but rather we are reviewing our services and operations in line with current world values and climate change.
Annually, we have calculated that we use;
1) 500,000 litres (1/2 million) of fresh water to carry out exterior service washes
2) 6000 litres of cleaning chemicals
3) 3500 litres of cleaning acids
4) 2500 Tons of packaging including recyclable materials
5) We create 800,000 vehicle movements
6) We do not have an accurate assessment of the electricity usage or how this power is generated (i.e. Wind, Solar, Carbon Fossil Fuel) however we have taken an impact perspective, that again this is contributing to our Co2 footprint.
